This edition features an exclusive guest mix from DJ Andy Burton, with the artwork designed to give each featured artist their own identity while maintaining the recognisable visual format of the wider series.
The design combines DJ Burton's portrait with microphone, headphone and vinyl imagery to immediately establish the music and broadcast setting. Black, white and warm gold detailing creates a clean but atmospheric finish suited to the underground music focus of the series.
Challenge
The artwork needed to promote an individual guest DJ while still clearly belonging to MC Kie’s established mix series. As part of an ongoing run of releases, the design also needed a structure capable of presenting the volume number, featured artist and series messaging without competing for attention.
Approach
A circular broadcast-inspired composition was used to frame the featured artist, supported by vinyl, microphone and headphone imagery around the edges. Strong hierarchy separates the MC Kie Presents branding, volume number and DJ Andy Burton feature, while restrained gold accents add warmth and depth against the predominantly black background.
Outcome
A distinctive piece of music artwork that clearly identifies both the featured DJ and the wider MC Kie Presents series, providing a consistent promotional asset for sharing the guest mix across social media and digital platforms.
